Topic-icon Documentation?

Documentation? was created by chramb1
Maybe I'm just missing the obvious - I can't seem to find any documentation for SCLogin. Specifically, I'd like to duplicate the login functionality on the site here. The link in the upper corner, modal functionality, changing to "my account" when logged in, etc.

Can you point me to something that explains how I can do this?

As far as the modal popup in the upper right corner, you can see the first item in our SCLogin Common Support Questions - 'How can i open the SCLogin Modal Popup with a regular link?' at www.sourcecoast.com/sclogin/documentatio...n-support-questions/

For the 'My Account' menu, this is accomplished by setting the 'Show User Menu' setting in SCLogin > Logout View Settings with the 'User Menu Style' of List and 'User Menu Title' of Name.

This should get you started, but let me know if you have any other questions as you proceed.

Thanks,
-Melissa

I'm afraid you've already lost me.

The link you provided gives me an anchor tag. I know of no way to get an anchor tag into a Joomla menu. I can create a menu item with an external URL, but that's not the same an an anchor tag with a data-toggle parameter. And clearly the link changes from "Log In" to "My Account" when the user is logged in. I don't see how this change is made.

What would be great would be a tutorial showing how SourceCoast constructed what clearly works very well on this site so that we mere mortals can reproduce it. The link you provided says, "On sourcecoast.com, our Log In and Register links are not actually part of the menu. We are using the SCLogin as a module and displaying in a template position near the menu. The module has then been styled to have a consistent look with the menu and is set up to use the 'Modal Popup' view type and 'Text Links' to launch the modal."

Step by step instructions on how to do this, perhaps? I'd like to do exactly what is described, above. Since it clearly can be done, I just need to know how ;)

I'm sorry for the confusion, but only the first paragraph at the link I provided is what applies to your situation. The second section is for adding the SCLogin modal popup on the page from a link. We currently don't support adding SCLogin as a menu item, but have an issue in our tracker to investigate in a future release.

Please try these steps:
1. Create an instance of the SCLogin module.
2. Try to put it in the same template position as this module (or temporarily disable the other module at this position if adding both doesn't work well).
File Attachment:

3. In SCLogin > Login View Settings tab, change the following options to these settings
File Attachment:

4. Create a menu with whatever links you want to appear when the user has logged in.
5. in SCLogin > Logout View Settings tab, change the following options and set the user menu to the one created in #4.
File Attachment:

6. We also have a slight override on SCLogin that fits well with our template, so if you get to this step and the User Menu when logged in looks funny, let me know.

Steps #1 and #2 should accomplish the following:

What would be great would be a tutorial showing how SourceCoast constructed what clearly works very well on this site so that we mere mortals can reproduce it. The link you provided says, "On sourcecoast.com, our Log In and Register links are not actually part of the menu. If you need more details on any of the steps or run into problems, please let me know and I can clarify.

Once I get these steps ironed out with you, I will gladly update our documentation :)

Thanks
-Melissa
