I am also having the same issue on this site...
www.templebarasia.com

My overall requirement is to have a small log-in footprint on the front-page, that either has a dropdown or a pop-up for login. I want to allow either traditional registration or social account linkage. I also then want the ability to add custom fields to the user profile, which the user needs to be able to self-edit post registration. The registered users are also getting synced to a MailChimp list.

To achieve this I have tried to have SCLogin as the login box, that is then connected to JSN easy-profile. I am using CMC - MailChimp for Joomla! from Compojoom for the last feature.

Any thoughts on the modal pop-up and whether I am using a sensible mix of components is welcome.

Regards, Matt

Matt,
I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Your overall selection of extensions seems like it should be fine. The SCLogin module has a good model popup that should save space and the Mailchimp signup should work regardless of how the user registers.

We've honestly never used the JSN easy-profile extension, so I can't speak to that. JFBConnect, our social network integration suite for Joomla, doesn't currently have specific integration for easy-profile either. It's something we have on our radar to investigate for allowing profile import into, but I don't have a timeline on when that may happen. However, with JFBConnect, the user could definitely authenticate with a social network and edit their profile after they've registered. It just won't be pre-filled with social network info right now.

I hope that helps answer your questions, but if you have anything else you'd like to know, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
