Yello,

It seems to me that we could do with a newsletter signup upon registration. I want Mailchimp, but I'm sure there would be others that would like Campaign Monitor, Get App, AWebber, and the others that are about. I'm sure Mailchimp would be fine to start with. In fact a Mailchimp integration would be nice, although not a login type of product, it certainly would be a useful tool, I'm not sure all of the others out there meet the mark, there's so much scope, and there's an API available.

Eoin,
We likely wouldn't add a newsletter signup option to JFBConnect. There are plenty of plugins out there to already do this. We used to use Mailchimp and had a plugin that automatically subscribed users to a list on registration. JFBConnect's form-based registration mode also loads Joomla login fields that are added the normal JForm way.. what that means is that plugins that add a "Subscribe to newsletter" box on the standard Joomla registration flow should work with JFBConnect as well.

We moved to Sendy recently for our newsletter software and even released our integration plugins for subscribing users to a Sendy newsletter. That all works outside of JFBConnect, as we think it should.

In general, we just don't want to open up that can of worms because there's a ton of things we 'could' integrate with, but we want to keep focused on what we do best... especially when there are drop-in ways (many of them free plugins) to accomplish the same thing already.

I hope that helps explain, but if you have any other comments or suggestions, just let us know,
Alex
