SCLogin placeholder not work in IE8, IE9

I apologize for the delayed response. Your correct that the placeholder attribute does not work in IE9 or lower. All other browsers and IE10/IE11 both support that field.

There is a Javascript library which supposedly backports the placeholder feature back to IE9 and earlier. We're planning to evaluate and implement this library for the next major release of the SCLogin module, due in February.

Again, I'm sorry for the slow response, and we hope that the next update will improve our backward compatibility with these older browsers.

You're not truly using IE9 or earlier there. The emulation mode of IE10+ is not accurate in all regards, especially in reporting the capabilities of the browser, and is not the proper way to test.

We have tested with IE7-9 and it does seem to work in all of our tests. Please test with those actual versions and see if it's not working. If not, definitely send us information on how we can access your site and we'll gladly test as well.

No problem, it's what we're here for! Also, please do actually test in those other browsers. While we did do some testing, there are tons of combinations of templates, extensions and other things that could be preventing the new placeholder functionality from actually working. We really, really think it *should*, but it is a new feature in this latest release.. so there could always be bugs. If so, we'd love to hear about them to get it going for the next release.

Of course, if you have any feedback, suggestions, or general comments for improvement, let us know. We want to keep making the SCLogin module better!
