SEF URLs in SCLogin? was created by timwil
Following on from our conversation in a previous thread in this section, I have set-up Community Builder as the registration component within the SCLogin module but have noticed something which I feel needs addressing. It may not actually be a SCLogin issue but would like to discuss it as a way of finding a solution.

After installing Community Builder, I set-up a menu module for the Community Builder links and published it so I would get SEF URLs for Community Builder actions such as registers, userprofile, lostpassword, etc.

However the links within SCLogin module are not being SEF'ed but still contain the words "component" and "comprofiler" in the path. For instance the link to the registration page within the SCLogin module is:
http://www.*****.co.uk/component/comprofiler/registers
whilst on the rest of the website is:
http://www.*****.co.uk/cb-registration

What I effectively have here are 2 links to the same page which shouldn't happen with Joomla.

Just thought I would answer my own question. I sent this issue up the line and got an almost instant reply from my developer saying the problem is standard Joomla SEF does not support Community Builder. Good news is that there are 3rd party extensions that do such as sh404.

Yup, that's the answer I would have had as well :) SEF URLs can be tricky. All we can do in JFBConnect is politely ask the system for the SEF URL and use whatever comes back to us. Glad to hear you found a solution already!

Thanks,
Alex
