Hi Alex,

I updated my Joomla 3.4.1 site with JFBConnect 6.3.0. The component was uploaded but I am getting display issues which range from blank pages to pages stripped of any formatting, as so:

1. In my admin area, when I navigate to Component > JFBConnect > Overview: blank page
2. Component > JFBConnect > Configuration: blank page
3. Component > JFBConnect > Open Graph: normal
4. Component > JFBConnect > Channels: appears normal but there is not information, just column headings the the Source Coast footer
5. Component > JFBConnect > Social: content but stripped of formatting
6. Component > JFBConnect > Page Tab Canvas: normal
7. Component > JFBConnect > Requests: appears normal but there is not information, just column headings the the Source Coast footer
8. Component > JFBConnect > Profiles: content but stripped of formatting
9. Component > JFBConnect > User Map: blank
10: Component > JFBConnect > Auto Tune 1st page: normal
11: Component > JFBConnect > Auto Tune click "Start": content but stripped of formatting

Have you got any suggestions?

What you describe means there's likely a PHP error happening for some reason. Can you go to the Joomla -> Global Configuration area and set "Error Reporting" to "Maximum". Then, check what error messages are displayed on those white or mis-formatted pages and we should be able to help narrow things down.

You may also want to try re-installing JFBConnect from the Joomla installer. In case there was a file that wasn't properly installed, that could fix things.

Keep us posted,
Alex

Hi Alex,

No progress, I'm afraid.

I reinstalled the component using the Extension Manager. I then enabled error reporting and also checked the error logs on the server and there are no errors being shown, at least the type of errors I would expect. My error log does show missing files, however:

/public_html/media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_google.png
/public_html/media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_linkedin.png
/public_html/media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_facebook.png
/public_html/media/sourcecoast/images/provider/button_twitter.png

One odd thing I've noted is that when I upload the component, there is no confirmation that it was uploaded successfully. However, on those pages that are correctly formatted, it shows the correct version (6.3.0).

I am using Joomla 3.4.1 and I have tried the component on PHP v. 5.3.29 and 5.5.17 with the same results.

Any further thoughts?

There's definitely a PHP error happening. Can you go to the System -> System Information -> PHP Information area in the admin area of Joomla? Then, search for 'display_errors'. It should have 'Yes' in both columns. If so, then look for the "error_reporting" value and let us know what value is set there in both columns. From what you describe, it sounds like php errors are being suppressed by your server/hosting company, regardless of the value set in the Global Configuration area.

If that's the case, you'll need to find the PHP error log. The log you show is your Apache log, which tells you about missing files when a page loads or other issues like that. The PHP error log is what you'll need to look at which, again, may need to come from your hosting company.

Without that, I'm not sure what would be causing the white pages or errors your describing. The PHP error will let us know the issue immediately and help us determine the proper solution.

I hope that helps get things going, but if not, please let us know the PHP Information values.

Thanks,
Alex
