If you create a new Joomla! template according to the docs here docs.joomla.org/Creating_a_basic_Joomla!_template and install JFB Connect and configure Facebook correctly, it will work but should you activate the auto-login feature it will cause a redirect loop. I suspect it is because of the pop-up messages but I cannot be sure.

Creating a module position for messages ( <jdoc:include type="message" /> ) does not help and neither does it help for a debug module position. Possible JFB Bug or an overlooked necessity? Using the default protostar template works.

We have seem some login loops in the past related to the popup. Please try disabling the 'Show Logging In Message' option in JFBConnect and possibly also the 'Show Login Credentials in Popup' option too see if that helps.

We've also seen loops on login due to caching issues. I'd look at that if I were you, but if it works with the default Joomla template, I think it would be less likely.
