SCLogin as popup was created by TomR
Okay I'm using the latest rockettheme template and I'm trying to get the SCLogin module to load in a popup menu item. I found an interesting solution at
www.rockettheme.com/forum/index.php?f=20..._v=viewtopic#p860077 . It works fine except for the image. Then I read this ... www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/common-support-questions and discovered that I needed to change the login button type to image link and I put images/facebook.png in the link image field. The image that I placed in the images directory does not show up however the regular facebook button appears after triggering the popup a few times. Can someone set me straight on this? The site is not live yet but I can provide access if need be.

Thanks!
Tom

Yes, with a RokBox, you need to use the Image type button. The image link in the parameters should just be the full path to your image. While you can use a relative path, using the full image path with domain is the best, like yoursite.com/images/facebook-login.jpg

Mainly, just make sure you can go to the image link in your browser directly, and then use that URL in the image URL setting of the SCLogin module.

Hope that helps, but if you still run into issues, just let us know!

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex. I did test the image link in the borwser and I tried both relative and full image path and the popup behaves the same. Probably something very simple but I can't see it. Any other thoughts?

Make sure that you clear your cache after you make any changes. Also, for testing, I'd disable any 'optimization' plugins or cache in general that you have. Joomla's Global Config cache setting and the RokBooster plugin come to mind as things to disable for now.

If that doesn't work, leave the image button setup and let us know a page we can test from and we'll gladly help look further into the issue.

Thanks,
Alex

I believe that I've not yet enabled any caching as I'm putting the site together. I cleared the browser & joomla backend. I don't have a staging area & the site is off line. Can I send you the admin login?

Tom,
Sure, feel free to Private Message me the details. You can do so by clicking the arrow under my avatar (<----) and hitting the mail icon.

Please include exactly what page we should be able to see the popup on, what we should click on to make it popup, and the module(s) you're editing.

Thanks,
Alex

Tom,
Thanks for the credentials. I tested on the front-end of the site, and I think I'm missing something. When I click the Login button in the top-right, I consistently see the image below:
File Attachment:

I'm using Chrome on a Mac. Can you let us know what you're seeing (or not seeing) that's different? Also, let us know what browser and OS you're using so we can test that way if necessary as well.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry about the delayed reply. My OS is Windows 7 and in both FF & Chrome (latest versions) I see the original image after clicking on the menu item and opening the popup multiple times , not the new image that you are showing. I also tried viewing on a PC at work and a Mac at home and got the same thing ... no new image.

Tom,
I was just able to test in Win 7 with Firefox and Chrome. In both cases, I saw the exact same image as I post above. I opened the Login popup and closed it repeatedly on the same page, and it never changed.

One thing to note, for testing, we turned off the "Offline Mode" setting in Joomla so your site was 'live'. Since we're working with a login button, we didn't want to login on the front end, which then makes the login functionality not work (since you're already logged in).

If you're testing where you login on the front-end first, please try to simply disable Offline Mode first and test that way. If that doesn't work, can you please post a picture of what you're seeing, cause I'm still a bit confused as to what might be happening. Seeing it in action may make it more clear.

Thanks,
Alex
