After purchasing JFB-Connect (and successfully completing AutoTune), I wanted to use it with the SCLogin module. However, I cannot enable SCLogin. I get such red/rose colored bar that is typically the background of an error message when I hit the "Save"-Button. But no error message is showing.

I've never seen that before and don't have a great answer as to what the cause may be. Can you try deleting that instance of the module and re-creating a new one? Once you do, make sure you set a module position to display in (one isn't set above, just in case you hadn't).

Beyond that, there isn't anything with the SCLogin module that checks the values you configure and would actively deny you saving it, so I'm a bit confused as to what's happening. If recreating it doesn't work, the next step may be to ask you for admin credentials so we can take a peek.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi, Thank you for your suggestions! Unfortunately, we tried these before without success. I would be great if you could have a look. We will send you access info via PM.

Can you double-check the credentials you sent me? When I try to use them, I get the standard:

Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

Let me know and I'll gladly try to get into the admin area and investigate what's going wrong.

Thanks,
Alex

The issue look like a failed or partial install of JFBConnect. The social network login buttons aren't showing up, which is causing the SCLogin module to get very confused. I've never seen anything like that. I can only recommend re-installing JFBConnect. Once you do, if you go to the JFBConnect -> Configuration -> Facebook (or any other social network) area, there should be an image in the "Login Button" area. On your site, it's just blank.

I hope that helps, but if the images still don't appear after re-installing, let me know and we'll look into things further.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you! Reinstalling JFBConnect seems the have helped at least somewhat. The SCLogin module can now be added and the login buttons are showing properly. However, it still seems to be not fully functional. For example, if I choose to login with my Twitter account (Register new user) at first the login wants me to connect to Twitter (which is normal I guess) but then it still asks for all the typical login details (Name, E-Mail, Password etc.) as if nothing was pulled from Twitter. In my understanding, the aim should be to just input your Twitter, Facebook, etc. credentials and a new user is automatically created without further input (or confirmation) being necessary. Or am I wrong?

In general, that is how automatic registration works to create a user without further input. However, some social networks, such as Twitter, do not return the email address associated with the social network account. This forces us to go through the mini-registration process so that a Joomla user will be created with a valid email address. This is why you will see the "unexpected" behavior with Twitter and not other social networks like Facebook.

Thank you for this information! On a related issue, how do I control which modules are shown when the various login-related forms are shown (registration form, welcome to new account message etc.). For example, when the user registration form is shown (after clicking 'register'), a number of modules on my page disappear (while others are staying).

In the Menu Assignment tab of the module parameters, you can specify which pages the module will be loaded on. Try altering which views are checked here to see if the issue is resolved. If you don't see a view that you're looking for in the list on that tab, try creating a menu item for it (like the User Registration view or the User Login view) and then enabling it in the list in the menu assignment tab.
